The marine program
Dive Like a Scientist is a 2–4 hour marine science diving experience for PADI open water divers or above, with experts guiding dives that may encounter reef fish, sharks, mantas, rays, groupers, moray eels, pelagic fish shoals and sea turtles. The diving runs all year round, while its duration varies with weather and ocean conditions.
Dugong Watching is a wildlife-watching boat trip focused on dugong, dolphins and birds species, placing the lagoon and nearshore waters at the centre of the outing rather than treating them as a backdrop. The Wonder of Whales runs from June to September, lasts 1–3 hours, and is guided by knowledge of the marine science team with humpback whales as the named focus.
Beginner & Advanced Kite Surfing Lessons bring kite surfing professionals to Kisawa for a three-hour session. The lesson format covers beginner or advanced levels, and the arrangement includes boat rental and equipment.
Forest, beach and dune country
Kisawa Sanctuary occupies 300 hectares of forest, beach and sand dunes on the southern tip of Benguerra Island. The setting makes the resort a base for moving between terrestrial edges and marine water rather than a single-purpose beach address.
Benguerra Island gives the page its operating scale: a luxury resort and boutique beach escape whose field value lies in proximity to beach, dune, forest and reef-linked programs.
Access from Vilanculos
Vilanculos Airport (VNX) is the named gateway for Kisawa Sanctuary. Shared helicopter transfers run from the airport to the Kisawa helipad, with the final approach taking 5–12 minutes.
Baggage on the helicopter transfer is restricted to 15kg per person, including hand luggage, or 20kg per person when packed soft. The limit belongs in the first layer of packing, not the last check before departure.
Weather as an operating condition
All Kisawa Guest Experiences are weather dependent. Boat outings, diving and kite surfing therefore sit inside a daily operating decision, with the marine program shaped by conditions rather than a fixed itinerary alone.
Prices and inclusions
Dive Like a Scientist is listed at EUR 1,100 for up to two persons, subject to 17.6% hotel tax and a 10% service charge. Dugong Watching is listed at EUR 1,190 as a price per boat trip for up to four persons.
The Wonder of Whales is listed at EUR 1,300 per boat. Beginner & Advanced Kite Surfing Lessons are listed at EUR 805 for a private lesson, including boat rental and equipment.
Resort to Research
Resort to Research is Kisawa Sanctuary’s named conservation practice, with marine science and conservation as the beneficiary. The program gives the resort’s marine emphasis a stated research and conservation connection rather than leaving it as general environmental language.
