That short road sector matters for first-day planning because the main travel friction sits in reaching Paro by air before continuing to the lodge by vehicle.
Year-round opening, peak months and summer rain
Bhutan is described as a year-round destination, and Amankora’s broader journey program also runs year-round. March, April, September, October and November are identified as peak months, separating the strongest general travel windows from the open annual calendar.
May to August carries a different planning logic because both Bhutan Hiking Tours and Himalayan Summer Retreat are tied to that summer period. Light rain is named for the hiking retreats, so clothing and day pacing belong in the plan even when the program itself remains active.

The Ultimate Amankora Journey is priced from USD 1,764 per suite, per night, with taxes and fees marked as ++ and validity through 31 March 2027. The rate includes return airport transfers, full board with daily breakfast, lunch and dinner for two guests per room, scheduled yoga classes, scheduled cultural classes, laundry service, use of bikes and access to an outdoor heated swimming pool.
A USD 100 resort credit per stay applies to dining or spa, while alcoholic beverages and dry cleaning are excluded. Amankora Journey is also listed from 930 per night on double occupancy with meals included, and another amount of 1,550 is listed as a further pricing point.
